If you read the agreement when signing up for social bookmarking sites it states that you are not allowed to use these sites for you advertising. If it is obvious to the site your postings can be deleted and your account suspended. It some cases they will band your site completely. I mentioned earlier the advantages of having links from these loved sites. In this instance it also spreads the bad back to the search engines.

There are many programs available that can automatically create accounts and submit links. If used incorrectly they can do more damage than good. There is a right way and wrong way to advertise on social bookmarking sites. Take some time and plan.

I prefer to use automation software sparingly and in the beginning I did it manually. This can be very time consuming but very profitable. The first three tools I will talk about are free and will speed up the process.

Onlywire is a great tool that will submit your page to 30+ social sites with one click. They have a free version and a paid version. The only difference is the advertising. You have to put their link on you site if you want to use the free option. If you want the paid version it is only $2.99 a month.

You will have to set up accounts for each of the sites you want to submit to. This can take a little bit of time but is well worth it. Take the time to make these accounts as professional and personal as you can. Besure to add a link to your profile back to your site.

I recommend using the Firefox plugin. They have the option for all browsers but I have found the Firefox plugin the easiest.

Addthis and Tell-a-Friend These have the basic concept but you have to submit your bookmark individually with each site. I use the Firefox plugins for these options also but the Chrome Extensions work great also.

I use Onlywire to auto submit and then I submit to the other sites with the Addthis Extension. You can see that I have added the Onlywire button so when it is published all I have to do is hit the button and it is effortlessly submitted to all my bookmarking sites. I will then set up a campaign over the next three months through Bookmark Generation.
